What Happened in 2016
On the right is a slideshow featuring a few pictures from
Affa Sair's first birthday party in April 2016!
We have since grown to over 370 members. (Nov 17)
We have been given a regular meeting room to hold real world meetings from NHS Grampian and as well as our website, we have published various social media accounts and a forum. NHS Grampian have agreed to print and publicise our information brochure and most importantly a pain service was re-established at Dr. Gray's Hospital, Elgin in our very first year.
Not too shabby for a very young group created by one man who has battled with chronic pain for nigh on 40 years.
Photos from our Bowen Therapy Taster Event on September 18 2016. This was the first time we met on a Saturday afternoon. We hope to be able to repeat the Saturday Afternoon slot sometime in 2018.
Photos from our Meeting on 26th August 2016 when the talk was on The Bowen Technique with Guest Speaker Maurizia Ferrari.
Following a meeting with Moray Regional MSP Douglas Ross on 26th July 2016. Douglas said he would help and support us and true to his word he proposed a motion to be presented to the Scottish Parliament, which you can read from here; asked questions about Pain Services budget allocations to all 14 Health Boards and convinced NHS Grampian to support us by printing and publishing our information brochure and publicising the group in their social media channels.
Dave & Jill from the Life & Sole Gym in Forres came along to our meeting in September 2016
and showed the group some light exercises they could do even with their various conditions.
Quite a few of the members subsequently bought some of the therabands to use at home.
Our first Christmas Party was held in our usual meeting room in the AGB Hub at Moray College, Elgin on 15th December 2016.
As you can see there was stacks of food to be enjoyed and leftovers to be taken home. Our thanks to Venita for organising the occasion.
