  • Hydrotherapy

    Weekly Monday 3:30pm - 4:30pm

    Hydrotherapy allows you to move painful joints and limbs in very warm water akin to a bath. Using Moray Hydrotherapy Pool in Forres, you can take part in induction classes under the supervision of a trained physiotherapist free of charge.

    Our free Hydrotherapy sessions need to be prioritised for people who have been referred to our social prescribing scheme by their Doctor in Maryhill Practice in Elgin and the Practices at Forres Health and Care Centre.

    However, any vacancies are made available to Affa Sair members on a weekly first come, first served basis on our facebook page.

  • Meditation & Wellness for Chronic Pain

    Fortnightly from Wednesday 3rd April
    1pm - 1:30pm

    A series of online meditation and wellness sessions run by Deidre Chrisenson-Main. Deidre has been a Wellness, Health and Life Coach for many years and has now launched officially as a Chronic Pain Coach. Deidre suffers from chronic pain herself and is a long-standing member of Affa Sair.

    These free sessions, which last about half an hour, will allow you to try meditation from your own home.

    You do not need to have your camera switched on to take part in the classes. As long as you can hear what is being said you will be able to take part while maintaining your privacy.

  • Zentangle

    Every four weeks on a Tuesday
    from 7:30pm - 8:45pm

    Zentangle is a great way to distract you from the continual onslaught of chronic pain. It is a more structured form of doodling which lets you create beautiful small works of art.

    Our sessions are led by qualified Zentangle Tutor Irene Baird ZNT from Aberdeen.

    All you need are 10cm (4 inch) square pieces of paper or card, a pencil and a fine liner pen. There is no need for canvases, paints or easels.

  • Seated Gentle Exercise

    Saturday fortnightly 11am - 11:45am

    Led by Mollie Powney of Project Neuro in Elgin, the online gentle exercise classes will allow you to use gentle movement to free your body from the muscle and fascia tightness that comes from chronic pain.

    The fortnightly sessions are held on a Saturday at 11am. There is no compulsion to have your camera turned on while taking part in the sessions.

  • Art Therapy

    4 weekly from 1st April 2024
    6pm - 8pm

    The Art Therapy Session for various types of painting using acrylics, watercolours, charcoal etc is led by professional artist Georgia Rose Murray and is held once a month at Moray Art Centre in Findhorn.

  • CraftyArt Sessions

    Every Thursday 6:30pm - 8:30pm

    Distracting yourself is a great way to let your body and mind relax from the continued onslaught of chronic pain.

    Every Thursday a free session is held in Forres Town Hall led by Affa Sair members with participants encouraged to choose from various art and craft activities such as rock painting, canvas painting, learning to zentangle and many different craftworks. The choice is yours.

    Entry to the Town Hall is from the side door nearest the High Street on the left of the building. The door will be unlatched until 6:45. If you arrive after that you will need to ring the door bell positioned on the fire exit door to the left of the entry door.

  • Boxfit

    Weekly Thursday 5:00pm - 6:00pm

    Online adaptive boxfit class specifically designed for people with pain or disability with Kronik Warrior

    Kronik Warrior Adaptive Boxing Academy delivers a pioneering inclusion boxing programme, which can be adapted to suit each participant, ensuring that all safety measures are adhered to, and reflects the varying disabilities of members.

    The non-contact adaptive and fitness classes are designed to incorporate functional fitness, strength and body conditioning, paying particular attention to the transfer of adaptive boxing skills to increase fitness of co-ordination, core stability, and overall upper body strength.

  • Walking

    Twice weekly
    Monday 1:15pm and
    Wednesday 1:30pm

    People taking part in our social prescribing scheme can join in walks for all capabilities organised by Walk Moray in Forres and Elgin.
